HbA1c, also known as glycated hemoglobin, is a blood test used primarily to monitor long-term blood sugar control in individuals with diabetes. It reflects the average level of blood glucose (sugar) over the past 2 to 3 months by measuring the percentage of hemoglobin (the oxygen-carrying protein in red blood cells) that is glycated (bonded with glucose).
