Factor XII (Hageman Factor) is a clotting protein involved in the intrinsic pathway of the coagulation cascade. Unlike other clotting factors, a Factor XII deficiency does not typically cause bleeding problems but can be associated with an increased risk of thrombosis (abnormal blood clotting).
