The Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase IgA (TGA) test detects the presence of antibodies against tissue transglutaminase (tTG), an enzyme involved in the metabolism of gluten. The test is primarily used to diagnose Celiac Disease, an autoimmune disorder triggered by the ingestion of gluten in genetically predisposed individuals.
